Slow down…
Unfortunately…that is what I have to do now.
Polaroid shooting is SO MUCH FUN!! But given the limited quantities available…a slow down is necessary. I have a lot of film but I have to pace myself otherwise my fun little toys will become fun little display pieces! Which is what I intend to do with them in the future but I wan that to be way in the future…not the near future!
So…here is a bombardment of the ‘roids I have taken (no not the enhancement drugs)… over the last couple weeks…
More Polaroid goodness…
Chaz had to go to Sedona to measure a job on Friday so we went along for the ride!
This is the Chapel of the Holy Cross…it is an awesome chapel built into the rocks…and luckily the job Chaz had to measure was down the road from it! ![]()
And the famous Red Rocks of Sedona…not the most noted ones like Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte…but cool just the same! ![]()
Here are the kiddos after finishing their egg coloring! Bunny ears on and everything! haha! ![]()
And a shot of our beautiful Easter Ever weather…cloudy…raining…windy…cold… :/ ![]()
Day 3 ~ Polaroids ~ The last three ‘til Saturday…
Saturday we have a ward Easter party…so I plan to try and take a couple nice pics of the kids with the Polaroid. So I will refrain from anymore Polaroid taking until then…
So here are the last three ‘til then.
Kidzaam Dentistry…I thought I had it framed right so when it came out I was bummed. I should have backed up…oh well.
Wispy clouds and jet trails…I have a small obsession with clouds and jet trails and thought a Polaroid of then would be fun!
My Wolves…only four showed up last night…that was a bummer for my pic. It was getting dark and I should have taken the pic as soon as we got there. We’ll have to try again next time and hope more show up!
Maybe I’ll have to take a pic of the whole group at the next Pack Meeting! That would be fun!
Day 2…Polaroids…
I went snap happy again with the Polaroid…after this I will definitely slow down and take more meaningful pics. It was just too fun to stop!
First snap of the day…as you can see I am working with color film now.
Glassford Hill
Pigeons on the lines…I have an obsession with birds and wires. And I was lucky to get one of them flying off!
I think the spot on this one and the following image were because it was too cold for the film.
It’s hard to see it but there is a small bird on the bottom wire…
Prescott Valley’s soon to be, new library…it may look neat but it sure is a waste of space…
Miss Sage…
The Civic Center…This building has always reminded me of a Air Traffic Control Tower. It makes a cool photography subject!
There is are all around the Civic Center…it’s neat too look at! I have heard people complain about “Why waste the money to put them there.” I feel sorry for anyone with that attitude towards art.
Another shot of the other camera…lol…I really look forward to using it someday.
Even if it isn’t with instant film.
Fun new photography venture! :)
The camera in the picture was given to my husband by his Grandma. So when I expressed interest in getting an old Polaroid he said, "I have one." Like that was the most natural thing on the planet. LOL! Unfortunately, after a little research, I found that the film is no longer made and can’t be found. BUT it can be used with 120 film…so maybe someday I will try that out.
So I found a cheap Polaroid and bought some film and here we are!
It actually had some film in it already that got wasted while I was trying to figure it out. I am glad it had some that I could test on!
I haven’t taken a pic of the new/old camera…but for reference sake…SEE HERE…
This picture was left in the camera case…
It has the year and name of the people on the back. Kinda cool!
It was taken in 1980.
This film was left in the camera… ![]()
My first actual shot…
#1 ~ Battery was dead.
#2 ~ I didn’t pull the will tab out all the way.
2nd shot…
#1 ~ Didn’t pull the white tab all the way out…again…but the whole thing was kinda jammed up so I lost several sheets. Luckily it was the film that came with it. Unluckily…that film would have been awesome to get some keepers on. The color is great!
#2 ~ Didn’t really know how the focus works so I wasn’t far enough away from the camera and didn’t have the focus distance set right. ![]()
3rd shot…
And the one I am bummed most about…
It’s a pic of Ashlyn…and it would have been super cute! But I guess I didn’t pull the film out evenly and possibly too fast. ![]()
