Last week I bought an old film camera at Value Village. It is a Yashica MG-1. And to my surprise it had film in it already! So I took the film to get developed and wasn’t expecting anything to come out of it. I also took a roll we had laying around. So I told the 1 hour photo guy I wasn’t sure if one of the rolls would even have anything on them. When I went to pick them up he confirmed my assumption. It would have been cool to see old pics from some stranger but no big deal. So I got out to the car and opened the envelope with my pics in it…hmmm…I have never been to Hawaii!?!?
Turns out my roll was blank and the roll from the camera was fine! I’m sure my roll was probably found by one of the kids and they rolled it inside not even realizing that was a bad thing. So I am pretty sure the roll was never even used. But it was a pleasant surprise!

The camera in the picture was given to my husband by his Grandma. So when I expressed interest in getting an old Polaroid he said, "I have one." Like that was the most natural thing on the planet. LOL! Unfortunately, after a little research, I found that the film is no longer made and can’t be found. BUT it can be used with 120 film…so maybe someday I will try that out.
So I found a cheap Polaroid and bought some film and here we are!
It actually had some film in it already that got wasted while I was trying to figure it out. I am glad it had some that I could test on!
I haven’t taken a pic of the new/old camera…but for reference sake…SEE HERE…

This picture was left in the camera case…
It has the year and name of the people on the back. Kinda cool!
It was taken in 1980.

This film was left in the camera…

My first actual shot…
#1 ~ Battery was dead.
#2 ~ I didn’t pull the will tab out all the way.

2nd shot…
#1 ~ Didn’t pull the white tab all the way out…again…but the whole thing was kinda jammed up so I lost several sheets. Luckily it was the film that came with it. Unluckily…that film would have been awesome to get some keepers on. The color is great!
#2 ~ Didn’t really know how the focus works so I wasn’t far enough away from the camera and didn’t have the focus distance set right.

3rd shot…
And the one I am bummed most about…
It’s a pic of Ashlyn…and it would have been super cute! But I guess I didn’t pull the film out evenly and possibly too fast.

Focus???

Awww…sweet focus…and sweet baby girl!
